Festive Houses Project Sponsorship – Over £3,000 raised for the Countess Charity ‘Blue Sky Balcony Appeal’
Over recent years, Matthew’s have supported various charity initiatives and events to help raise funds for the Countess Charity. Although events have been restricted this year, it was a real privilege to be provided with the opportunity to sponsor their recent ‘Fundraising Challenge Festive Houses‘.
This purpose of the project was to encourage local school children to festively decorate houses and raise funds for the ‘Blue Sky Balcony Appeal’ at the Countess of Chester Hospital. With over 1000 houses being distributed to local school children to decorate, we were thrilled to find out that an amazing total of £3,126 has been raised.
As a local independent estate and letting agent, a project with ‘houses’ as its theme was ‘right up our street‘. It ia also a prefect way to draw a close to 2020.

The aim for the ‘Blue Skies Balcony Appeal’ is to create an outdoor garden balcony for poorly patients to access during their time on the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). This will provide the opportunity for some outdoor therapy which is beneficial for patient recovery. The ICU cares for over 800 of the hospitals critical patients each year, and the patients, their family and ICU staff will be able to use the outdoor balcony for much needed breaks and to get fresh air and see Blue sky.
