Chester Market Report – Autumn/Winter 2021
Our last Market Insight report was a huge success, so we are excited to launch our Autumn/Winter report to help inform buyers, sellers, landlords and tenants what they can expect from the market for the final quarter of 2021.
The imbalance of supply and demand continues to push prices up in Chester and across the UK. This has resulted in a period of frenetic activity unlike anything we’ve witnessed for perhaps three decades, and of course this begs the question “how long will it last?”
Meanwhile, for the lettings market, we are seeing rents increase substantially again for the first time in two years as prospective tenants compete for the few properties coming on to the market. With the ONS reporting that average house prices increased by 13.2% between June 2020 and June 2021, the highest annual growth rate the UK since August 2007, it is likely to keep more tenants in the market.
