Matthews virtual walk to Rome will raise money for Cheshire Young Carers
Matthews is taking part in a virtual walk to Rome (and back) to raise much needed funds for Cheshire Young Carers.
The company’s employees are all putting on their walking boots to walk 2,604 miles between 1st June – 31st August which is the equivalent of Chester to Rome and back again.
The event marks the independent estate agent celebrating its 35th anniversary and they wanted to mark the occasion by giving to the local community. The idea of virtually walking from Chester to Rome (and back) relates to Chester being a roman city and the 2,604 mile distance seemed a great challenge that all the team could get involved in.
Rebecca Matthew Director and Owner says: “This year marks an important milestone since my parents started the business back in 1986, so we wanted to do something for the local community. Cheshire Young Carers were thrilled to be our charity of choice and all the team at Matthews are keen to put their best foot forward and start clocking up the miles for this important cause.”
Cheshire Young Carers supports young carers in Cheshire aged between 6-18 who have to care for a family member they live with; by providing them with school holiday respite programmes, and specialised support where required.
