Matthews 30th Birthday Party
Here at Matthew’s, we’ve just celebrated our 30th Birthday! Hosting a party for the big day at Oddfellows in Chester back in April, the event was a big success! With many of our clients, friends and employees coming together to join us in the celebrations, it cemented how pleased we were to celebrate 30 years as the longest established family-owned estate agency in Chester.
Originally established in 1986, when the average house price was £38,000, we’ve been through two recessions, 6 Prime Ministers and the invention of Rightmove, so it’s fair to say we’ve had our fair share of ups and downs.
We’re proud to be part of such a close knit family business. When Tim and Sue Matthew first started the business three decades ago (with only a phone, a card index and a photocopier) the design of our unusual offices and hand-drawn house details made us stand out from the competition right from day one. 30 years down the line, we’ve developed an extensive amount of valuable local and industry knowledge which we now put into practice on a daily basis to help our clients get the best results.
Matthew’s has expanded considerably over the last 30 years, having moved offices twice and now employing 24 staff. The business is going from strength to strength and our long-standing reputation in the area is truly paying off. Our original aim to provide excellent customer service is still at the forefront of everything we do, helping us to grow the business with word of mouth recommendations from satisfied customers.
Moving into lettings and then expanding into the student lettings market was a natural progression for us. More recently, we have also been working on block management, developing our expertise into even wider areas. We’re always looking for new projects to take on, helping us to grow our knowledge base and serve as many people as possible.
We’ve have built some great relationships with landlords and the directors of management companies we work with and hope that these will all continue to into long-lasting partnerships, where we can work together to move our businesses forward and solve problems effectively. Their continued loyalty is what has allowed us to go from strength to strength, ensuring our good reputation is upheld and we are referred more business.
Doing a good job and pleasing our clients is one of the main things we aim for throughout our work so we were really pleased that we got the chance to celebrate our 30th birthday party with some of the landlords and companies we work with as we all came together to celebrate three decades in the industry. We’re looking forward to continuing this success for the next 30 years, overcoming challenges and making the most of opportunities coming our way.
